Etsy EU Customs 2026: €2 Fee and Product IDs

A new €2 handling fee

According to Etsy, eligible shipments will face a €2 Union handling fee per unique item within a package, regardless of package value. This is separate from the €3 customs duty introduced in July. Applicable VAT may also be charged. Read Etsy's EU announcement.

Avoid assuming every parcel will have a fixed €5 additional cost. The charges use different calculation rules: the €3 duty on relevant low-value shipments is based on distinct tariff categories within the parcel. See the EU Council's explanation.

Product identifiers for shipments below €150

Etsy says imports valued below €150 will also require product identifier data:

Identifier	What Etsy sellers can provide
M-PID	Etsy listing ID
NS-PID	Product or variation SKU

When purchasing labels through Etsy, the platform submits identifiers using listing information. For labels purchased elsewhere, follow your carrier's instructions. An existing standardized identifier, such as a GTIN, may also be requested. Etsy's identifier guidance.

Example: selling linen tablecloths

Give each size a clear SKU:

140 × 180 cm: LINEN-140180-NAT
160 × 220 cm: LINEN-160220-NAT

This helps identify the exact variation shipped. These identifiers do not replace customs tariff codes.
